We are a registered club dedicated to Disc Golf. Founded in 1984, the Bavarian Airhawks were among the pioneers that made this sport popular in Europe. In the Eighties and Nineties we were one of the top clubs, and Hartmut Wahrmann, one of founding fathers, even won two world championships.
Environmental concerns made things difficult at times, and for some years we were unable to host tournaments.
While the corona pandemic brought competitive Disc Golf to a grinding halt it also initiated a phase of new growth: More and more people discovered Disc Golf as an excellent way to spend time outdoors and hone their skills. Some old hands came back from a long hiatus, and some ex-Ultimate Frisbee players found a new home.
In April 2022 the Bavarian Airhawks hosted two tournaments to mark the beginning of a new era. We are well organized and eager to grow.
